The Town of Fortville is seeking one (1) individual (“Citizen Member”) interested in serving on the Plan Commission to fill an open seat:

To be appointed by the Town Council President per Indiana Code. Qualifications for this seat per state law:

- Must be a Republican (Commission required to have 2 Democrat and 2 Republican citizen members);
- Shall be appointed “because of the member's knowledge and experience in community affairs, the member's awareness of the social, economic, agricultural, and industrial problems of the area, and the member's interest in the development and integration of the area;”
- Cannot hold an elected office or any other appointed office in local, county, or state government excepting being on the Board of Zoning Appeals;
- Must live within the town limits or Hancock County + own property in Fortville.

It is anticipated that a decision will be made at the Town Council meeting beginning at 6:30 PM on Monday, April 21.
