Ribbons on Trees
Earlier this year, our community experienced a heartbreaking loss. In the weeks and months that followed, many residents, businesses, and friends tied pink ribbons around town as a visible expression of love, remembrance, and support for the Buzbee family and all those affected.
Those ribbons have served as a meaningful tribute and a reminder of how our community comes together during difficult times.
As the seasons change, the Town respectfully asks property owners and community members to help remove any remaining ribbons from trees throughout town. While placed with the very best intentions, materials left on trees for extended periods can affect tree health. Strings and ribbons tied to trees can cause girdling, which restricts growth and may damage branches or, in some cases, the entire tree.
Removing the ribbons does not diminish the love, memories, or support they represent. Rather, it allows us to care for the trees that help make our town beautiful while carrying forward the spirit of compassion and unity that inspired this tribute.
We sincerely thank everyone who participated in this community expression of remembrance and support. Your kindness and care for the Buzbee family have been a meaningful reflection of our community's strength and compassion.
