IN State Road 13 remains closed in both directions (at mile points 2.8 - 2.9) between Reformatory Road and Fall Creek Drive (1 mile south of the Ingalls area). This part of the SR 13 is closed due to emergency repairs to the bridge over Fall Creek. lNDOT's most recent projection of completion is May 30, 2025.

INDOT has experienced delays on the State Road 13 bridge project over Fall Creek. According to Madison County engineer - Jessica Bastin, INDOT initially inspected the bridge and determined it should be closed for repairs, with a long-range plan to replace the structure.

INDOT’s official detour uses only state highways to keep trucks and other heavy equipment off county roads. In December, Madison County Commissioners removed weight restrictions on three nearby county roads that are part of the "unofficial" detour - 800 South, 1000 South, and 1050 South. Madison County recently repaved the roads involved in the "unofficial" detour. INDOT has made a video of the condition of the county roads and will pay for any repairs related to detour traffic.
