Officer Freitas awarded with the Central Indiana Police Foundation’s Officer of the Month

Fortville Police Chief Patrick Bratton presented Officer Art Freitas with the Central Indiana Police Foundation’s Officer of the Month Award last evening. We are grateful for the Foundation’s continued support of law enforcement across Central Indiana.

Officer Freitas, a four-year veteran of the Fortville Police Department, exemplifies dedication and professionalism. Despite his relatively short tenure, he consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to serving both the department and the community.

He has taken on key responsibilities, including leading our recruiting and hiring efforts, managing social media, and serving part-time as a School Resource Officer at Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation. Officer Freitas is also a member of the Hancock County Joint Tactical Team (SWAT), a Field Training Officer, and fluent in Spanish.

His initiative and reliability make him an invaluable asset to our department. He is always among the first to volunteer and plays a vital role in advancing our mission and standards.

This marks the first time a Fortville officer has received this honor, and we extend our sincere thanks to Officer Freitas, Lucas Oil (program sponsor), and the Central Indiana Police Foundation.
